About the Author
Yun Li, Ph.D.
I’m a parent and writer who cares deeply about how children learn to understand emotions.
These books were created to offer children a different experience: one where emotions are noticed, expressed, and allowed—without blame or fear.
For some children, words are not the easiest doorway into feelings.
Coloring offers another path—one that is slower, quieter, and often safer. The Can You Color That Feeling? series was created to give children space to notice what they feel, without needing to explain or fix anything.
Each page is an invitation to pause, focus, and gently explore emotions at a child’s own pace.
The work here is guided by a few simple values:
Emotional understanding grows through expression, not correction
Every child deserves to feel secure, in their own feelings
Feelings come and go, all is ok
Alongside the coloring books, I am developing a series of illustrated storybooks for young children. The first storybooks in this series are coming soon.
My hope is that these books become gentle companions—for children finding their way through big feelings, and for the adults who care for them.
Thank you for being here.
